There are some jobs in our office that just don’t fall under the teams that we have already mentioned in our AAO Staff Appreciation blog series. Today we want to give a HUGE shout-out to those team members who work so diligently behind-the-scenes to ensure that our office runs smoothly!
Laura
Team member since 1999. Laura started her career with OSS working as a Clinic Tech and in 2012 she transitioned to our Scheduling Coordinator when she moved from Fort Wayne to the Chicago suburbs. Laura is the person who makes sure our offices are fully staffed each day, she gets the calls at 4 AM (Central time) when team members are sick and then has the job of figuring out who can cover and she handles vacation requests for all 35 team members. She also puts in our patient schedule templates for each patient day. This allows for our schedule to flow properly.
Marissa
Team member since 2002. Marissa has worked as a Clinic Tech since she joined our OSS team and she was our Clinic Team Leader from 2011-2020. At the start of this year, she transitioned from Clinic Team Leader to our Administrative Support Manager. Marissa helps with interviews for potential new employees, she communicates with a variety of schools for student intern/externships, she assembles work related studies and presentation on different procedures within our offices and she oversees IT issues with our patient software and cameras. She’s continually staying up-to-date on advancements within the orthodontic field by watching webinars and then relaying the information to the teams within our office. Marissa said her favorite part of this job is the work related studies; she gets to see the outcome of all the different techniques we use in our office.
Rhonda
Team member since 2006. Rhonda has the important job of being our Office Manager. Each team in our office (Front Desk, Treatment Coordinator, Financial, Marketing, Lab, etc.) has a team leader. The team leader is responsible for communicating to their team and then they also communicate to Rhonda; so Rhonda has the responsibility of overseeing all areas/teams of the office (that makes her the work-mother of 34 ladies). Rhonda is also responsible for all of our HR, finance, computer/IT, and property management functions. She also works directly with Dr. Aron on setting goals for our team. Rhonda enjoys taking care of the OSS “business”, so that Dr. Aron can focus on taking care of our OSS patients.
We are so grateful that we have such amazing team members who are willing to take on the big responsibilities of the jobs listed above. Without the dedication of these three ladies, OSS would not be able operate to its full potential.
