We are continuing on celebrating the individual teams that make up OSS! Our OSS Purchasing Team consists of TWO team members, Michelle and Talisha. They oversee and ensure that the practice has everything it needs to run at full production, and they make sure the office has ample inventory ready and available to distribute to both offices when requested by our team and doctors.
Michelle
Team member since 1996. Michelle is our Purchasing Manager, She handles placing orders via fax, online, email and/or by phone. Our purchasing department has a detailed inventory system where we can track and check current inventory on every item we have on hand and Michelle keeps that inventory/ordering list up-to-date. Michelle also does research on product availability with different orthodontic manufacturers.
Michelle has multiple roles in our office and is also a member of our Clinic Team and our Marketing Team. She said her favorite thing about working as part of the purchasing team is finding deals and making sure the practice has everything it needs to run at full production every day!
Talisha
Team member since 1991. Once our orders are shipped and delivered, Talisha unpacks each item, puts the items away in our supply offices, and then “checks-in” all items. Talisha is also in charge of filling the offices “wish lists.” When an item needs to be re-stocked/re-filled in any area of the office, a team member will add this item to their “wish list” and then Talisha fills/packs the list and sends these items to either our Dupont Road or Warsaw locations. Talisha works as a member of our Front Desk Team, is our Front Desk Team Leader and is a member of our Clinic Team.
Talisha said her favorite part of this job is the fact that she doesn’t have to exercise in the evening on her supply days, because she spends her morning carrying the heavy boxes from upstairs where they are delivered to our supply room in the basement. HA!
The fact that two people handle the purchasing of ALL items for both of our locations is unreal and means both of these ladies are very organized. We are so grateful for the hard work you put in each week to keep our offices running smoothly!
